Curious about making your own soap? Then this is the workshop for you! You will learn the basics of how you can make cold-stirred soap yourself. We will go through how you easily can make a recipe and how to safely mix your very own soap. We work in pairs so bring your bestie or neighbor with you. The soap takes a week or so to solidify. We use herbs, mica powder and essential oils to give the soap color and fragrance. If you want something special in the soap, bring it! We pour the soap into milk cartons and each participant gets 500g of soap to take home. We recommend that you bring an apron and if you have a metal hand mixer, bring it to. Gloves and safety glasses will be on site.

Hey! My name is Christian and I am basically a craftsman, with one foot in the traditional home craft and the spirit of the maker movement. I work with both traditional materials and techniques but like to test boundaries and see what can be achieved with digital manufacturing methods. By exploring the work of the hand and traditional materials, I want to examine the craft's being in a modern age. Within the maker movement, we learn from each other and from our experiences, just as in the traditional craft. I want to understand the connection between the hand and the brain and how we can make room for knowledge as well as the doing of the hand in an industrialized world and in this way understand both our traditions and the time we live in today. I am a trained home crafts consultant and licensed crafts teacher and with that foundation I now stand here and offer you an experience of crafts. So sign up for a course and learn something new, perhaps about yourself or the times we live in.
