About
Learn the basic techniques of leather crafting and make your own designed key ring. I begin with a short introduction about the history and the tanning process and show theoretically and practically the craft based on tradition and the methods I use. After this, you can design and manufacture your own key rings based on the basic techniques. The idea of the course is to get a solid foundation to be able to continue on your own or to be able to delve further through continuation courses that will be available shortly. Ps: The leather craft requires accuracy and patience. It may seem simple to just make a key ring, but without seeming inflated, I can say that it is something quite adequate to tackle in a 4 hour basic course.
You'll learn
- Basic techniques in Leathercraft, choice of materials and tools, how to care for your leather.
- Brief historical introduction and the tanning process.
- Depending on time and if you want, there is also the opportunity to learn how to care for and keep your tools sharp, sharpening etc.

For most of my life I have been involved in various types of crafts. A few years ago, I studied leather crafting at Nyköping Folkhögskola and became very attached to it. I still work in other materials and, for example, make my own tools, but the main focus is on the leather craft. I mostly design and manufacture accessories, bags and utility items and make custom productions for those who want. I love being creative and working with my hands and I want to inspire others to feel that feeling too. Another big reason why I do crafts is that I want to inspire people to think more long-term and sustainably. A well-made craft can last for generations if nurtured and taken care of, unlike today's mass-produced wear and tear products that are even made with the intention of lasting a certain amount of time.
