We learn to bake pizza and foccacia just like in Italy! The recipes are traditional and adapted to home use, results are outstanding even though you do not have a pizza oven! We go through the flours, kneading technique and fermentation. We make everything from classic Margherita to "pizza di patate" - a potato pizza with mozzarella and focaccia with rosemary and cold-pressed olive oil. These are just some of the pizzas we will be baking! The course suits everyone and requires no previous prior knowledge. (Not for professional use). Children of all ages are welcome. We offer coffee and tea, but those who want are welcome to bring their own wine or other drink. Non-alcoholic alternatives are available for purchase on site.
My name is Samantha Santambrogio-Öberg and I run Al Dente. I came to Sweden from Milan in 1996. After 10 years in system developement I decided to change course completely and realize my dream. My dream was to work with my life long passion for food, culture and travels. Today food, culture, tradition and Italy is what I do daily. Details in cooking processes, the choice of ingredients and the family style atmosphere around the table is what I teach. A cooking class at Al Dente is a break from a fast paced life, weather you're attending as a teambuilding activity or cooking with family and friends. A pasta course enjoyed in Toscana might have a different character than from the same course in Stockholm. But in my kitchen you will come very close to that special Italian feeling.
