A relaxing combination of forest bathing, city walks and nature walks in Årsta nature reserve, Stockholm.
This workshop is based on Folkets Hus, Årsta torg and takes you on a walk through Årstaskogen and its history. You hear about Märta Helena Reenstierna "Årstafrun" who spent her whole adult life here.
You walk through deciduous forest and past allotments and a beautiful coniferous forest with many clearings. Since 2018, the area is a unique nature reserve. You will learn how the trees communicate with each other and listen to the trees' feelings and memories. You will also learn the interplay between man and the forest since time immemorial.
The hike takes place in partly hilly terrain where we move slowly and carefully.
We all feel good about staying more out in nature, whether we exercise or just walk. Nature with its fresh air and greenery does us good, research has shown this for a long time. We do not need much movement to experience the emotional benefits. It is even good enough to just sit and take in the forest. It helps us to reflect on life and most often we get new perspectives on problems.
With me as a guide, you can let go of control, which many find liberating. We humans are social and many of us just appreciate going out in groups.
In the coniferous forest we do our Forest Bath or Shinrin-Yoku and find a place where we can stand firm for a mind inventory.
I invite you to listen to the sounds, to smell and embrace nature and the forest. Together we try quiet hiking that helps us go down in laps, we also get the opportunity to try treasure hunting, stump-sitting and tree hugging.
I recommend that you put away your mobile phone, preferably in a quiet position during the workshop. It gives you the opportunity to be here and now and concentrate 100 percent on yourself.
The workshop ends with organic drinks and snacks while we get the opportunity to sum up the impressions.
Please note
The workshop takes place outdoors, in partly hilly terrain, and I recommend comfortable clothes and shoes adapted to the weather and activity.
We move slowly or very slowly, and you may get cold. During the workshop, organic drinks and snacks are served, please indicate any allergies when booking. I have a seat pad with me for everyone in the group. Of course, there is also rubbing alcohol and a first aid kit in case of an accident.
