About the expert

Madeleine Lithvall is the creative director of her own agency specialising in fashion, lifestyle and beauty. Her work is characterised by humor, craftsmanship and an uncompromising focus on sustainability. She has lectured and held workshops at London College of Fashion, Proteko, Modeskolan and the Handarbetets vänners skola. She has been working with brands and magazines like British Vogue, Debenhams, Glitter and Odd Molly. Madeleine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Illustration from the London College of Fashion and has also studied fashion design, couture and pattern making in Stockholm as well as advertising and graphic design in Sydney.

About the Skillbreak

This class will give you a full on crash course in creating a garment sketch from scratch. You’ll learn to translate basic garment production into your own fashion. We start by checking how a garment is constructed, and we learn how to draw a technical sketch of the piece by hand. A course for you if you want to become a designer, work in fashion, or just have an interest in clothes.

Additional information

Bring drawing pad, fine liners; 1, 0.5, 0.3, 0.1, pencils, rubber, and a pattern construction ruler if you have one. Please bring your own clothes if you want to draw something special, otherwise there's garments to draw on the spot. Fika is included!
