About the expert

I'm Matilda, founder of Skillbreak. I believe in the power of lifelong learning and that growth happens in the connection between humans. Sharing skills and passions, learning by hand, directly from another person. That is why we created Skillbreak. I've always been into good, natural healthy food and I'd love to share some of my best tips around fermentation with you.

About the skillbreak

I fell in love with fermenting, not just because it's a great way to care for nature’s resources when cooking in line with the seasons, but also because its delicious! Fermenting is one of the most nutritious forms of preservation, infusing the food with healthful probiotics, great for digestion and a healthy gut. Using this simple yet traditional preservation method, you will understand how to cultivate probiotics using high quality ingredients. You will learn how to make sauerkraut, kimchi, and cultured veggies. In addition, you’ll learn simple and creative ways to incorporate probiotic fermented foods into everyday meals. You’ll create the ferments yourself during the class and get to bring home two jars.
